Legend of the Black Reef I (Ravinrunn, GRP)

The party convenes in Ravinrunn and takes some time to explore the town, going shopping and spending time at Ravinrunn's casinos and bars. When finished, they go to the Storm's Empress, the grand flagship of Captain Dolores Morrow's pirate fleet. They are welcomed aboard, and Capt. Morrow briefs them on their quest. They are finding an artifact known as the Heart of the Sea, which is rumored to be hidden somewhere in the abyssling-infected Black Reef. This reef is said to be made out of the bones of leviathans and the wrecks of ships. Many sailors go in searching for the Heart, but none have returned - devoured and assimilated by the abysslings, or dashed to bits on the bony spikes.

Morrow intends to be the first to return alive. The party agrees, and shares all the information they have regarding abysslings. The weakness to salt comes up, and Morrow reveals she has gone to great pains to stock the Storm's Empress' cargo with crates of salt. They discuss how best they can prepare their weapons to battle abysslings, and then go to sleep. After some silly hijinks at night, they set off westward the next morning, sailing away from the setting sun.
