Iterative Alkahest Session 4

Played October 3, 2026, run by Caleb Zhang.

Synopsis

The players wake up in a field with a world shaded blue without Lady Nour, Pharaoh Aten, or the guards around. As they look around, they see a light on the horizon. They walk through the forest towards the light, noting how everything is frozen save for the air and how they see no animals in the forest frozen either. They walk towards the light, but seem to make no progress; noting how the space is likely distorted. Upon a psionic spell, they realize how artificial this plane feels.
During rest, with the only star in the dark sky providing light (utterly unchanging), Thomas is approached on guard by a ghostly figure with a scythe. Thomas converses with it, and the ghost seemingly lost in his own mind, calling himself Moon. Waiting till everyone wakes, the ghost asks to guide the players. The players agree, and the ghost leads them down a path.
Moon is able to share a little about what happened while walking - that there were great calamities prophesied and that he is one of the Ichor Bearers. There are no gods here (Moon states that he doesn’t think they even exist), not that he would call them - rather there are ichors and calamities in pairs that represent domains of powerful magic.
The ghost then stops - telling themselves to brace themselves and apologizing that there is no other path. That space and time grow frail and shatter, splitting the party into two combats. One group faces a mecha and another is a corrupt judge and his court. They switch between the two at the midway point and manage a win at great cost, returning to their proper time in space and time.
Moon spills his own blood to heal the party to fuel a magical healing, and they press on towards the city. Moon seems unconcerned that he is wounded by this spell.
