Help, I've been robbed!

Alex Starkweather calls upon his contacts to put together a team of adventurers to recover some stolen magic items. They tracked the thieves to a mine, where they were ambushed. After defeating the ambush, they recovered one of the items and a journal that led them to another hideout. Upon reaching that hideout they found everyone inside killed and a mysterious sigil written in their blood. They also found one of the magic items, which led them to a crypt in another city, where they found a number of cultists. Several of the cultists died, but the last escaped with a teleportation spell. The journal and all information about the cultists were given to Starkweather, the magic items were allowed to be kept by the adventurers.
